It’s no secret that I adore Twirl Cafe. About 3 weeks ago Becky, the owner, and I planned a maternity session for her and her abso-freakin-lutely adorable and hilarious 2 year old. First thing she said to me when she got out of the car for her session that evening: “Where’s my lunch?” We quickly headed out to our location and set up their picnic and I started shooting. This lighthouse is ghostly and kind of spooky and the feeling was complimented (and increased) by the seriously windy weather and the very overcast evening. I think it worked out nicely though with Becky’s cute green dress and her girl’s somewhat retro attire.
See that mischievous grin? Yeah, she had just tricked her mom and licked her cheek instead of kissing her.
I’m not sure Becky appreciated it, but I was cracking up.
Seriously, could these two be any more lovable?! Look how cute they are.
Did I mention it was windy? We were freezing.
Becky was such a trooper. I made her wade out into the freezing cold water for a minute or two to get the shot I wanted.
She didn’t even complain and just said “it’s not that bad.” I put my feet in the water a few days ago when it was significantly warmer (yet still extremely cold since Summer is choosing to skip Seattle this year) and it really was that bad. I knew I didn’t believe her.
I’m all about the detail shots. There was no way I could pass up this very crabby “birthday party.”
